Meet Our Fall 2023 Interns

I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to intern at Lip Gloss for Love and
providing for those who have been affected by domestic violence with essential
resources. This experience has not only enriched my professional skills but also
deepened my commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. 

Being able to intern with Lipgloss for Love has been an excellent experience. I
have the opportunity to directly engage with families and provide them with the
resources they need. I am very fortunate to be able to work alongside other
students who share the passion for helping others as I do.

I have a bachelors in psychology from Texas State and I am working towards my Masters in Social Work at UTA. I work in education, enjoy traveling, being in nature and watching movies.I am excited to intern and learn with Lip Gloss for Love. I look forward to meeting people from the community and being able to contribute my skills and ideas to better someone’s day in any capacity.

Having a student internship at Lip Gloss for Love, Inc. has helped me gain the
experience of community outreach and case management skills that I had never had
before at another agency. I am grateful that this non-profit organization has
not only allowed me to grow as a future social worker but has also given me the
freedom to use my creativity when it comes to individual assignments that help
the agency. Our supervisor, and founding executive director, Mrs. Rayford, works
one-on-one with us as student interns to ensure that we get the experience we
deserve and guide us through training on how to serve the community to the best
of our abilities.

My time here has been nothing short of excellent. I have learned how important community engagements and outreach, how non profits are really advocates for the community, and how to advocate for those who may think they do not have a voice. I admire Mrs. Rayford and her passion for the community and I can not wait to complete my journey with this organization.

My internship at LipGloss for Love Inc. has been such a great experience not only do I get to work with an amazing team in a great environment but I also get to experience giving back to the community and make an mpact on those impacted by domestic and intimate partner violence. My experiencing has been both very educational and rewarding as I get to learn so much and experience the gratitude and happiness LipGloss for Love services provides to those needing the resources.. I am looking forward to continue this journey as an intern at the LipGloss for Love organization.

I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Michigan State University. I am currently studying for my MSW from the University of Texas at Arlington with a focus on mental health and substance abuse. Upon graduation, I plan to become a licensed clinical social worker to provide treatment to clients with mental and emotional issues that are affecting their daily lives. With my internship at Lip Gloss for Love, I hope to impact the community positively and make long-lasting connections between my peers. 

Hello, my name is Terri and I am a doctoral occupational therapy student at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. I am excited to collaborate with lipgloss for love this summer and fall to fulfill my capstone project.

My experience at LipGloss For Love has been astounding thus far. I enjoy the
group of people I work closely with. It’s also wonderful to see how resourceful
this organization is to the community. 

Being able to intern with Lipgloss for Love has been an excellent experience. I

Having previously worked with LipGloss For Love previous in my bachelor's. Wth this Nonprofit Organization I have gained invaluable experience in providing comprehensive support and resources to survivors of domestic violence. With my  empathetic approach and excellent communication skills have enabled me to establish trusting relationships with clients, fostering an environment of safety and growth.

My name is Jazzmyne. I attend Prairie View A&M university and my major
is social work. During my internship for lipgloss for love , I’ve had the
opportunity to actively engage with families in need through community
giveaways. As a BSW student, this experience has allowed me to contribute to a
cause I am deeply passionate about while honing my skills in working with
children and families. Through follow-up meetings and referrals to relevant
social services, I helped families access resources that would assist them in
their journey towards self-sufficiency and stability. 

My name is Convalecia and I attend the University of St. Augustine pursuing my doctorate in occupational therapy. As an intern at LipGloss for Love, I have learned the importance of collaboration and teamwork amongst different interns from various backgrounds. As an occupational therapy student/intern, I have learned the importance of the field of social work and how social workers are helping families meet their needs through partnerships, referrals, case management, and community outreach. Although I come from a different field of study, collaboration between social workers and occupational therapists is of great importance to meet the needs of their clients.
